Metabolife also known as Metabolife Complete, claims its weight loss pills will give you energy with stimulant free nights?  In researching Metabolife Complete’s large dose of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), clearly the Metabolife   formula is more like that of a carbohydrate blocker vs. an energy or fat burning pill.  HCA is thought to inhibit the enzyme citrate lyase, which is responsible for the conversion of carbohydrates into fat, hence the carb blocker like formula.  Metabolife does come with a small dose of 100mg or so of caffeine per serving, but that a small serving which is only equivalent to a single cup of coffee.

At the time of writing the recommended dosage for Metabolife Complete is to take each serving one hour before your meal. It is important that you take each serving during the day even if you miss one or more meals. Do not take more than one serving in a three hour period. Do not exceed 6 caplets in one day.

Breakfast Zone 5am – 7 am
Lunch Zone 10am – 12pm
Dinner Zone 5pm – 7pm

Metabolife Complete Ingredients
The major weight loss ingredient in Metabolife Complete is CitriMax™, a proprietary blend of garcinia extract and guaraná extract. These two ingredients, garcinia extract and guarana extract, are popular in weight loss supplements as they are natural sources of hydroxycitric acid (HCA) and caffeine, respectively; both of which have been associated with promoting weight loss.

Hydroxycitric acid is thought to inhibit the enzyme citrate lyase, which is believed to be responsible for the conversion of carbohydrates into fat.  Metabolife’s marketers do not provide the amount of HCA in the capsules.  Metabolife comes with caffeine, the supplement facts show a single serving contains 108 mg. This is about equal to the amount of caffeine found in a strong 8 oz. cup of coffee. Not too much, but perhaps enough to take advantage of caffeine’s stimulat properties.

The one other major ingredient in Metabolife Complete which may promote weight loss is chromium. The daily serving of chromium in this supplement is 339mcg, well above the typical daily dosage of 200mcg.

Each caplet contains: 54mg caffeine alkaloids
